Time Sensitive Information!
First and foremost: This Thursday, Shedd Aquarium is doing a Facebook Live Feed about how they care for their 32,000 animals. 9AM (CTD), Thursday, April 27! See: https://www.facebook.com/sheddaquarium/
They regularly have Live Feeds, so if you like the
Shedd Aquarium is an amazing aquarium in the Chicago Harbor seated right on Lake Michigan. The daily line for tickets goes out the door — they put up a permanent tarp so that rain or shine, you’re protected from the elements at least for part of the cue.
We went just in March for a family trip and it was amazing. Our favorite place was the view of the dolphins and whales. Find them here: https://www.facebook.com/sheddaquarium/
Membership Has Privileges
Since we became members, I’ve been getting emails about their events. It’s too far away to go every week (priorities and a three hour drive prohibit that), so I thought I’d share the joy. It’s worth a trip and also worth getting a membership if you plan on returning more than once.
If you do go, please buy your tickets online so that you don’t have to wait in line. You will be glad for that piece of advice. Really. Even if you buy your tickets at 1 AM the same day. But who would do that? *cough*
We arrived a little later than opening (because hunger happens and experienced mamas know that well-fed kids don’t argue as much) and had about a 15 minute wait, but because we got our tickets ahead of time on-line, we were able to see a show at our desired show time. All the shows were already sold out at noon when we arrived! I felt pretty good about that midnight purchase. Yes, that was me on the computer at 1 AM wondering if a child was going to get sick just before the trip.
While at the aquarium, I gave my eight year old the camera and she had some fun. Did you know that shark pups grow in pods and are called Mermaid’s purses?
